Art Contests and Exhibitions

I’m a fairly new fiber artist exhibitor, in that I had my first and only art exhibit in October 2019 at First Universalist Society in Franklin (Franklin, MA). I sold two pieces from that show. The show was “The Goddess Collection” and featured Goddesses from several heritages around the world.

As a new exhibitor, I really didn’t know how the art world worked. Getting an exhibit at the church for which I belong wasn’t difficult. They know I’m a fiber artist. I have wearable art and they also see me working on various small pieces – small enough to carry around.

Selling two pieces from my show definitely boosted my confidence. I had never sold any of my art, except for puppets that I had made. As a fiber artist, I had not thought along the lines of exhibitions before. That’s when I went exploring. I found a juried fiber art contest/exhibition. It was with Fiber Art Now (http://fiberartnow.net).
