Historically, Oya (Oh-yah), who is Goddess of the Changing Winds and part of an Orisha (a group of goddesses) from West African (Yoruban) Mythology, includes Yemaya (Yehm-ah-yah), who is Goddess of the Flowing Waters, and Oshun (Oh-shoon), who is Goddess of Jewelry and Youthful Energy. Oya would be the oldest of the three goddesses or triple goddesses and is the crone or wise woman. Yemaya is the mother. Oshun is the maiden. They are all powerful goddesses.

As Goddess of the Changing Winds, Oya changes lives. A woman who was being abused by her husband, said, “I call upon Oya to help me change my life.”

Oya heard and went to the woman. She fanned her skirts to churn the life-changing winds and pursed her lips to blow a tornado into the woman’s life. Lightning sparked as her skirts churned and twirled the air, the woman’s life began to change. To see the entire story, it is included in The Goddess Collecton from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Goddess-Collection-Where-Stories-Blend/dp/1694679284/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=The+Goddess+Collection+by+Connie+Dunn&qid=1600026719&s=books&sr=1-1
